In the vast world of art, we have meticulously created a 66 cm tall statue of the Goddess of Peace, Mazu, representing the auspicious meaning of harmony and good fortune. This statue embodies the deep longing of the Chinese people for peace and hope, symbolizing their goodwill towards a peaceful future.
This Mazu statue stands with grace and dignity, holding a quiet vase in her left hand and offering protection with her right. This pose not only displays an elegant figure but also conveys the deep philosophy of peaceful coexistence. The purity of the vase symbolizes “harmony,” while the olive leaves on the vase represent “peace.” The combination of the delicate lotus and the resilient olive leaves makes this statue a vivid representation of the concept of peace, transforming an abstract idea into a tangible form, making it an iconic work of art for global peace.
Mazu, as a sacred symbol of peace and protection on the seas, has been a beacon of hope for countless people throughout history. Her compassionate spirit continues to guide those who navigate through turbulent waters, offering comfort and direction to ships returning to their harbors. This statue, based on her image, embodies the Chinese people’s fervent wish for global peace and prosperity, hoping that all nations can live in harmony and free from conflict.
With sincere devotion, I plan to present this carefully crafted Mazu statue to the United Nations. Through the belief in Mazu, a cultural treasure of China, I hope to open a door for the world to better understand China. This cultural symbol can enhance mutual understanding and cultural trust between nations, showcasing the enduring and inclusive nature of Chinese culture and its deep commitment to peace and a shared future for humanity.
This bronze statue is the result of the combined wisdom and efforts of many artists. Using traditional sculpting techniques, every detail was meticulously crafted to bring Mazu’s image to life. While preserving ancient craftsmanship, we also embraced modern challenges, seamlessly blending tradition with modernity to give this statue profound spiritual meaning, elevating it beyond a mere work of art into a legacy of faith and spiritual continuity.
On October 1, 2024, during a day of universal celebration, this Mazu statue will embark on a new journey, carrying hopes for peace, cultural exchange, and ecological harmony. It will become a bridge connecting the hearts of people from all nations, sowing the seeds of peace in every soul and blooming into a radiant flower of harmony.
